Poison Ivy and Botox

Poison Ivy was a fictional character developed by DC Comics for the Batman series. Originally cast as a super villain, she appeared in Batman #181 in the summer of 1966. As an eco-terrorist, she is obsessed with environmentalism, plants, flora, and all forms of botany. One of the primary powers that she utilizes is her kiss. At first kiss, she can administer a paralyzing poison. Her second kiss remits the anecdote, and between these times, her victim falls in love with her. With Botox injections, she could easily administer more poison to her victims, paralyzing them to near fatality for a longer period of time. This fatal kiss made her an extremely difficult heroine to battle, as she was a trained seductress and lethal killer.

Despite her red, flowing hair, Robert Kanigher, her creator, originally modeled Poison Ivy after the famous Betty Page. As such, she assumed the same southern accent and outfits as Page. As a voluptuous, gorgeous redhead, she was an extremely difficult villain to defeat by many of her male counterparts. With a Botox injection, her full lips could have attracted even more heroes to succumb to her fatal kisses, making life extremely difficult for both Batman and Robin. Throughout the comic series, she has consistently appeared as a heroine, who has caused just as many problems for the boys as Catwoman.

Since her character made the \”100 Sexiest Comic Characters\” list, coming in at 21st, she has appeared in several Batman spinoff comics, television, and animated series, as well as in film. Uma Thurman later portrayed her in the 1997 film, Batman and Robin. While it is unclear if Uma Thurman had received Botox, she did kiss Robin in the film. Eventually, Robin wore rubber lips, and when he was kissed by Poison Ivy, he survived the paralysis and scored a successful kiss with the beautiful red-haired villain. While the film was not a major success, Uma Thurman is still remembered for portraying the beautiful character with incredible skill. Indeed, when the movie came out, the Poison Ivy character dawned several movie posters that were purchased by many fans.

As one of the more popular Batman villains, she has played many roles. Clearly, she is such a gorgeous and powerful villain that makers of TV, film, and video games have felt the need to include her as a hurdle for Batman, Robin, and other superheroes. She is a formidable opponent.
