Are you cursed with the dilemma of having too many cleaning supplies in your home? Do you constantly have a battle with yourself over what kind of cleaning item to use for your daily cleaning and special cleaning chores? How about experiencing being totally mortified over using a disinfectant that you found in your storage cabinet and causing a scratch or heavy damage to prized furniture or fixtures? These horrors do happen on occasion but nonetheless there is no harm in having too many specific household cleaning items to get the job done safely and efficiently every time.

One thing you should take into consideration when stocking on your cleaning supplies is that different materials for furniture, fixtures and household structures will require different cleaning methods, reagents and cloths. Take the perfect example of a glass window versus granite counter tops. The advantage of having the right cleaning supplies for a cleaning job outweighs the trouble of having to itemize and stack cleaning chemicals, cloths and machinery in your storage area. If you have the right cleaning tools then you avoid the hassle of needed a clean do-over or damaging precious items in your home.

Of course you can never go wrong with the bare essentials. A trusty broom, quality mop and all around scrubber are your best pals in most cleaning duties and will serve you well for a long time. Having a trusty and efficient vacuum cleaner isn’t a bad thing either because it will certainly do the job a lot faster and more efficient for those tough to clean carpets, attics with dusty floors or just about anything that can get sucked into the cleaning tube.

Cleaning tough spots in your home such as the ceiling, roof gutters and grime encrusted floors can be some of the most tedious and difficult parts of the cleaning routine. It doesn’t have to be a toughie however; there are many area specific cleaners and cleaning tools available in the market today. Cloths specifically developed to work with stain removers, disinfectants capable of eliminating grime and bacteria and special mops that reach to your ceiling and don’t require you to stretch your arm until it aches.

Of course if you are tight on a budget then conventional household cleaning supplies are just as good and can easily be found in your home. You can use a regular mop to clean your ceilings if you soak it in a water and bleach solution to help remove stains and mildew effects from long term non-cleanups. You can disinfect your kitchen tiles and bathroom area with vinegar water or baking soda to kill harmful bacteria. You don’t need those fancy shamies either for wiping delicate glass fixtures and avoiding scratches on your granite counter tops. A soft cotton rag will be almost the same if not more effective in cleaning and minimizing the damage caused by friction on your furniture’s surface.

Being organized and specific about the kinds of cleaning supplies for your home does not equate to additional cost. You can be smart and practical but still win with efficiency and quality for your household cleaning items.
